AZ Max has been part of Arizona’s dental community since 1994.

What started as a single East Valley practice has grown into five fully equipped oral surgery offices serving patients from the Phoenix metropolitan area all the way to the White Mountains — and nearly every community in between.

Phoenix Metro Area — East Valley Communities

The Phoenix East Valley is home to more than two million people spread across some of the fastest-growing cities in the United States. AZ Max’s four Valley locations — Mesa, North Mesa, Tempe, and Queen Creek — are positioned to keep the drive short for patients in every corner of the metro.

Phoenix, AZ

Nearest offices: Tempe | Mesa

Arizona’s capital city spans a huge footprint, and AZ Max serves Phoenix residents from two convenient Valley locations. Most South and Central Phoenix patients are closest to the Tempe office; those in North Phoenix or central Scottsdale typically prefer Mesa or North Mesa. Our Phoenix patients come in for everything from single-tooth implants and wisdom tooth removal to full-arch All-on-4® restorations and corrective jaw surgery.

Chandler, AZ

Nearest offices: Tempe | Queen Creek

Chandler is one of the most dynamic cities in the state, and its residents deserve oral surgery access that keeps up. Our Tempe office sits north of Chandler on the McClintock corridor, and our Queen Creek office anchors the south. Both are typically under 20 minutes from Chandler’s major neighborhoods.

Gilbert, AZ

Nearest offices: Mesa | Queen Creek | Tempe

Gilbert’s rapid growth has brought thousands of families who need a reliable, board-certified oral surgeon within reach. Three AZ Max offices serve Gilbert — making it one of the best-covered communities in our network. Whether you’re near Agritopia, Val Vista Lakes, or Power and Baseline, an AZ Max surgeon is a short drive away.

Scottsdale, AZ

Nearest offices: North Mesa | Tempe

Our North Mesa office sits just west of the Scottsdale border on Brown Road — making it the closest board-certified oral surgery option for South and Central Scottsdale residents. Old Town and South Scottsdale patients are also well-served by our Tempe location. AZ Max is the referral destination of choice for dozens of Scottsdale-area general dentists.

Eastmark, AZ (East Mesa)

Nearest offices: Mesa | North Mesa | Queen Creek

Eastmark has become one of the most sought-after master-planned communities in the East Valley, and its residents have excellent oral surgery access through AZ Max. The Superstition Springs Mesa office is typically less than 10 minutes from Eastmark’s main corridors, and the Queen Creek office is a straight shot south for patients near the community’s newer sections.

Greater Arizona — Beyond the Valley

Not everyone lives in the Phoenix metro. AZ Max’s Show Low office extends our reach deep into central and eastern Arizona, serving communities in the White Mountains, the Mogollon Rim, and the high desert that have historically been underserved by specialist-level oral care.

Payson, AZ

Nearest offices: Show Low | Mesa

Payson residents sit roughly equidistant between our Valley offices and our Show Low location, with both approximately 1.5 hours away. We recommend calling ahead to schedule a combined consultation-and-imaging appointment so you can minimize trips. Our teams in both locations are experienced working with patients who’ve traveled a distance and want to make every visit count.

Snowflake & Taylor, AZ

Nearest office: Show Low

The twin communities of Snowflake and Taylor are approximately 25–30 minutes from our Show Low office — making AZ Max the closest board-certified oral surgery practice in the region. Residents no longer need to make a multi-hour Valley trip for implants, extractions, or jaw surgery. Our Show Low team serves the broader White Mountain area and understands the realities of rural oral healthcare.

Eagar, AZ (Round Valley Area)

Nearest office: Show Low

Eagar and Springerville make up the Round Valley — a beautiful, tight-knit region that has long needed better specialist access. Our Show Low office is approximately 35–45 minutes from Eagar via US-60, and our surgeons are well-practiced at efficiently handling complex presentations that may have gone unaddressed longer than ideal due to limited local options.

Arizona–New Mexico State Line

Nearest office: Show Low

Patients living along the Arizona–New Mexico border — including communities like Gallup corridor and border-area towns — can access board-certified oral surgery care at our Show Low office. We routinely see patients from across eastern Arizona and understand the value of consolidating multiple needs into a single well-planned visit.

What Makes AZ Max the Right Choice — Wherever You Live in Arizona

Board-Certified Surgeons Across Every Location

Every AZ Max surgeon holds board certification from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) — the highest credentialing standard in the specialty. This isn’t standard across Arizona oral surgery practices. At AZ Max, it’s non-negotiable. Whether you’re in Tempe or Show Low, your surgeon has passed the same rigorous written and clinical examinations.

In-Office Anesthesia — No Hospital Required

Our surgeons are trained and licensed to administer IV sedation and general anesthesia directly in our offices. That means procedures that might require a hospital outpatient setting at other practices can be completed here in a comfortable, familiar environment — often at lower cost and with faster scheduling.

One Surgeon, Start to Finish

Unlike hospital-based surgical programs, your AZ Max surgeon stays with you throughout your entire treatment — from consultation through surgery to your follow-up appointments. You won’t be handed off between providers.

Referral Network

From the consultation that reviews your X-rays and answers your questions, through the day of surgery, to the follow-up visit that confirms you’re healing well — the same surgeon stays with you. You won’t be shuffled between providers or left to re-explain your history at every appointment.

A Practice Built on Referrals

The majority of new AZ Max patients arrive via referral — either from a general dentist who trusts our surgical outcomes, or from a neighbor or family member who had a positive experience. That kind of trust isn’t purchased with marketing spend. It’s earned one patient at a time over three decades.

Free Dental Implant Consultations

If you’re exploring dental implants or All-on-4®, your first consultation at any AZ Max location is complimentary. Our surgeons will review your bone density, oral health, and goals — and give you an honest assessment of your options. There’s no pressure to proceed, and no fee for the conversation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find the closest AZ Max office to my home?

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?Use the city links on this page to navigate to your local service area page — each one identifies the nearest AZ Max location and includes an estimated drive time from that community. You can also call (480) 830-5866 and our front desk team will match you with the most convenient office based on your zip code.

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?

No referral is required at any AZ Max location. You’re welcome to call or book online directly. If your general dentist did refer you, we’ll coordinate your treatment plan with their office and send a detailed post-operative report back to them after your procedure.

Do all AZ Max offices offer the same procedures?

Yes. Every AZ Max location — Valley and Show Low — is equipped for the complete range of oral and maxillofacial surgery services, including complex implant cases, jaw surgery, and in-office anesthesia. You’re not limited to simpler procedures at any one location.

What if I live in a rural area far from the Valley?

Our Show Low office was opened specifically to serve eastern and central Arizona communities that previously had no local access to board-certified oral surgery. If you live near Show Low, Snowflake, Taylor, Eagar, or anywhere in the White Mountains region, Show Low is your closest option. For Payson-area residents, both Show Low and our Mesa offices are roughly comparable distances, and we can help you determine which works better for your schedule.

Can I get a same-day consultation and imaging appointment?

In most cases, yes. We make every effort to combine your initial consultation with any necessary imaging (such as CBCT scans) into a single appointment — particularly for patients who are driving from a distance. Call ahead and let the scheduling team know your situation so they can plan accordingly.

Does AZ Max accept dental insurance?

We work with most major dental insurance plans. Our team will verify your benefits before your first appointment and provide a clear estimate of any out-of-pocket costs. For patients without insurance or for procedures that exceed plan limits, financing options are available.

What is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, and how are they different from a general dentist?

An oral and maxillofacial surgeon (OMS) completes dental school plus an additional 4–6 years of hospital-based surgical residency training covering the full scope of surgery involving the mouth, teeth, jaw, and facial structures. This includes medical training in anesthesiology, emergency medicine, and surgical pathology — training that general dentists do not receive. For procedures like implants, bone grafting, jaw surgery, or complex extractions, an OMS brings a level of training and experience that simply isn’t replicated in a general practice.

How long has AZ Max been serving Arizona communities?

AZ Max was founded in 1994 and has been continuously serving Arizona patients for over 30 years. The practice has grown from a single East Valley office to five locations because patients — and the general dentists who refer to us — keep coming back.
