Finding a board-certified oral surgeon close to home shouldn’t feel like a second job.

AZ Max has built a network of five fully equipped oral surgery offices across the Phoenix East Valley and the White Mountains so that patients throughout central and eastern Arizona have access to the same high level of surgical care — without long drives or long waits.

Whether you’re in the Southeast Valley looking for a wisdom tooth extraction, in Tempe needing dental implants, or in the White Mountains searching for a skilled surgeon for corrective jaw surgery, one of our locations is likely within a short drive.

Our 5 Arizona Oral Surgery Offices

Each AZ Max location is staffed by fellowship-trained, board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons who bring hospital-level expertise to your neighborhood. Every office is equipped with advanced imaging, in-house sedation, and the same technology used in major surgical centers.

Why Patients Across Arizona Choose AZ Max

Since opening our doors in 1994, AZ Max has been the East Valley’s most trusted name in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Here’s what sets us apart from other practices:

Board-Certified Surgeons

All of our surgeons are board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). This certification requires passing rigorous written and clinical examinations and represents the highest credentialing standard in the specialty.

In-Office Anesthesia

We offer IV sedation and general anesthesia at every location — administered by our surgeons, not a separate anesthesiologist. This keeps your care coordinated and your costs predictable. Patients with dental anxiety or complex procedures especially benefit from this capability.

Same-Team Continuity

Unlike hospital-based surgical programs, your AZ Max surgeon stays with you throughout your entire treatment — from consultation through surgery to your follow-up appointments. You won’t be handed off between providers.

Referral Network

We work closely with general dentists and orthodontists throughout the Valley. If your dentist referred you to us, you’re in the right place. And after your procedure, we’ll send a detailed treatment summary back to your referring provider so your full-mouth care stays coordinated.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to visit AZ Max?

No referral is required to schedule a consultation at any of our five locations. Many patients call or book online directly after receiving a recommendation from a friend or searching for an oral surgeon near them. That said, we do work closely with referring dentists — if your general dentist has recommended us, we’ll coordinate your care with their office throughout your treatment

Which AZ Max location is closest to Phoenix?

Our Tempe office at 7350 S. McClintock Dr. is the most centrally located for Phoenix residents, particularly those in South Phoenix, Ahwatukee, or the West Valley. Patients in North Phoenix or Scottsdale may find our North Mesa or Mesa offices more accessible.

Do all locations offer dental implant consultations?

Yes. Free dental implant consultations are available at all five AZ Max offices. During your consultation, one of our board-certified surgeons will evaluate your bone density and overall oral health, discuss your goals, and present a personalized treatment plan. You’re never pressured to proceed — we want you to feel fully informed before making any decisions.

What types of anesthesia and sedation do you offer?

AZ Max offers multiple levels of sedation and anesthesia including nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, IV sedation, and general anesthesia. Your surgeon will discuss the most appropriate option for your specific procedure and health history during your consultation.

Can I have all my treatment done at one location?

In the vast majority of cases, yes. Our offices are fully equipped for everything from initial imaging and consultation through surgery and follow-up care. Occasionally, highly complex cases may require hospital-based surgical support — in those situations, our surgeons will coordinate the transfer of your care and remain involved in your treatment plan.

Do you accept dental insurance?

AZ Max works with most major dental insurance plans. Our front desk team will verify your benefits before your first appointment and walk you through any out-of-pocket estimates. We also offer financing options for patients without insurance or for procedures that exceed coverage limits.

How long has AZ Max been serving Arizona patients?

AZ Max was founded in 1994 and has been serving the Phoenix East Valley for over 30 years. What started as a single office has grown into a five-location practice trusted by thousands of Arizona families and hundreds of referring dental providers.
